Slot 4: Golden Apple (if available) or arrows (if i have them). If not then I usually place a high in saturation food in that slot such as steak or cooked porkchop.
Slot5,6,7,8,9? I fill up the rest of my slots with either food or flint & steel. You can never have enough fire
