Strange lag?

Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.

So about a week ago I started having some strange lag spikes. It runs smoothly for about 30 seconds and then I drop to 1 fps for like 2 seconds and it runs smoothly again.Help?
