I suggest just finding a good chest route, and one that isn't insanely crowded. Fighting wise there isn't much to say since MC is such a simple game when it comes to combat.

I have one, It's just not as good since people now get full iron and a diamond sword before 1st refill.

There are usually people who have a couple of random pieces of better grade gear then leather just walking around the map without a weapon. Once you get a weapon I suggest you try to find those people and hunt them down. You can get pretty solid gear that way.

Gear > weapons any day. A guy with full chain and a stone sword will probably beat the guy with junk and an iron sword in a fight.
