Its called a hungercraft server.

Ok, You go to "add server" and type in us.mcgamer.net and join. right click your compass then click on the survival games icon and click on a server that says "lobby"

Actually, Hungergames is the more appropriate term. Hungercraft is something completely different and something a Youtuber made up.

Never happened to me, is it only on a certain network perhaps?

It is not a particular network. We have patched one occurrence where it would put lobby in a map but we are leaving this open to make sure we didn't miss any.
